The result

A student hackathon that had to feel like its own event without breaking the parent brand it belonged to. Working directly with AdClub Colorado, we rebuilt the brand with Revenue-Engineered Branding to close the gap between the work and how the market read it. The result: 7 asset categories covered, Full in-real-life event architecture built, 3 Platforms social architecture built.

Challenge

An industry association wanted a hackathon-style campaign for its student edition, distinctly student-facing but unmistakably part of the parent brand. That is a harder brief than it reads. Push too far and the event orphans itself from the organization that gives it credibility. Push too little and it looks like a corporate mixer that no student will give up an evening for. The campaign also had to run across web, print, and three social platforms at once, and hold together while event details were still moving.

Solution

We treated it as one system rather than a stack of files. Using the Revenue-Engineered Branding process, we set the campaign's own visual register first, then built every asset off that single decision so the student voice stayed consistent while the parent brand stayed intact. Copy was written alongside the design rather than after it, each piece carrying its own strategic rationale so the client could see why a line existed, not just what it said. The system was deliberately built to absorb change: when the venue, the run time, the headline framing, and the registration route all shifted mid-project, every asset updated without a redesign.

Impact

  • Delivered more than 31 design files across seven asset categories in the first full round, six days after the brief
  • Built hero images, print posters, event program flyers, and platform-native post sets for three social channels, each in web and print-ready form with source files handed over
  • Produced a twenty-slide presentation template so student teams had a pitch format ready on the night
  • Wrote the landing page, email campaign, and social copy as three documents, each with the reasoning behind it
  • Absorbed three rounds of event changes, including venue, timing, and headline framing, without rebuilding the system
  • Shipped a campaign that reads as its own event while remaining visibly part of the parent organization

The outcome

The campaign went live across every channel it was built for and carried the event through to the night itself. The value was less in the file count than in the decision underneath it: settle the campaign's register once, then let every asset inherit it. That is why a moving brief never became a redesign, and why a student-facing event could sound like itself without ever looking like it had left the organization behind it.
