What if the audit says we don't need you?
Then that is what it says. Roughly a third of audits end in "fix these two things yourselves and come back in a year." The audit is only worth $749 if the recommendation is honest.
Does the fee count toward a larger engagement?
Yes. If you move into any engagement within 60 days, the full $749 is credited against it — the diagnostic becomes the first phase of the work rather than a separate cost.
